Starting Your Invisalign® Treatment Now

fort worth invisalignYou still have time to give yourself or your teen the gift of Invisalign®. Before your 2022 dental benefits expire, you can start a journey to an attractive and misalignment-free smile with a clear treatment option. In today’s blog, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist talks about the Invisalign® process.

Your Initial Consultation

First, we want to see you for an initial consultation. During this visit we will talk to you about your hopes for your smile, and we will also examine your smile with detailed digital x-rays and CT imaging, so we can assess the state of your smile and the extent of your misalignment. With this information, we can decide if Invisalign® is right for you. If so, we can get started on the process now, so you start 2023 on the road to an even smile, one that inspires confidence! In addition to the esthetic benefits, correcting your uneven smile could make brushing and flossing easier, and limit the risk of tooth decay and gum disease as a result. You’re also less likely to develop jaw joint disorders like bruxism (teeth grinding) and TMJ disorder, as your smile is properly balanced.

How We Create Your Aligners

The aligners are not a one-size-fits-all option, as each set is custom-made for your smile. This means a comfortable fit and treatment with precision and accuracy. To create them, we will use the iTero® system to gather detailed digital images of your smile from multiple angles, and this will happen quickly and comfortably too. We combine these to create a 3D computer impression. No need to bite down on molds filled with gooey material! In a lab setting, experts will use the impression to design and fabricate your aligners. You then wear a set for two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day. You then continue this with the subsequent sets until your smile is properly corrected. This could be as little as a year for most adults, while teens may need up to 18 months.

Use Your Benefits!

If you have dental insurance then you have benefits that will expire at midnight on December 31st unless used. You still have time to start treatment and put these to use. For more information and to see what’s available for care, give us a call to schedule your initial consultation and get started.
