We will sit down with you to talk about your hopes for your smile, and to also thoroughly examine your teeth and jaw with digital x-rays and CT technology, so we can assess the cause and extent of your misalignment. That way we can see if this is the best option for your smile. If so, we will employ iTero® digital scanning to gather detailed images of your smile from multiple angles with a tiny camera at the end of a thin wand. We then combine these to create a 3D impression far more detailed than traditional physical ones. With this, your series of aligners will be custom-made in a lab setting by experts!
The Invisalign® Process
Once your aligners are ready, you can begin the treatment process. You will wear a set of aligners daily for about 20 to 22 hours, over a period of around two weeks. You then repeat the process with the next aligners in the series as your smile is gradually and carefully repositioned. You can remove them before meals to avoid any need to change your diet or avoid certain items. Being removable also means the process of brushing and flossing is much simpler too. The total treatment time is usually around a year for adults, or up to 18 months for teens, but the exact time will depend on the severity of your misalignment and whether you wore the aligners as we prescribed.
