If you have misalignment, you may feel uncomfortable with the appearance of your smile. In addition, your overall oral health could suffer too! To provide treatment, we could shift these teeth with the Invisalign® system. As your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist explains, these are not only clear, but removable too!
The Invisalign® Treatment Process
How does Invisalign® correct uneven smiles with the use of braces or retainers? Well, we employ a series of custom-made and clear plastic aligners, made from BPA-free materials and designed to fit comfortably and gently shift the teeth. An entire series is made, and a set is worn every two weeks for 20 to 22 hours on average. At which point, you begin to wear the next series. With each set, your teeth are better aligned and closer to your optimal smile goals. They’re barely noticeable when worn, and require fewer office visits too. But one major benefit is their reversal nature!
Removable Braces
Being removable means you can take them out occasionally. For example, you can remove them before you eat. Which means unlike with braces, you don’t have to worry about food particles becoming trapped, or about avoiding sticky or chewy foods. In addition, you can take them out before you brush and floss your teeth, which makes oral hygiene habits much simpler than if you were wearing metal orthodontics. This helps lower the risk of tooth decay and gum disease, as well as teeth stains and bad breath. As long as you wear them for the amount of time our team discusses, you can also take them out for special occasions, like first dates, job interviews, or graduation celebrations.
