Our team offers braces, retainers, Invisalign®, and more to correct poor alignment issues in smiles of all ages, from children to adults. To aid in this process, we can also employ advanced digital imaging technology. In today’s blog, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist talks about using advanced technology.
iTero®
To design Invisalign® aligners and other oral appliances and orthodontics, we will use a digital impression. No need to bite down on a metal mold filled with a gooey and poor-tasting material. A process that often had to be repeated to obtain a viable impression! Instead, we will gather detailed digital impressions with the iTero® system. Using a tiny digital camera at the end of a thin wand, we will take pictures of your smile from multiple angles. We then combine them to create a detailed digital impression. In a lab setting, these can be used to design and custom-fit appliances and orthodontics, so you obtain treatment with precision and accuracy.
I-CAT
We also implement the I-CAT system to plan treatment with precision and accuracy. Using computerized tomography, we can take detailed images of your entire smile, or very detailed ones of a specific portion of your mouth. We can use these to plan treatment, offer a diagnosis, or create images showing what your smile could look like following treatment.
Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment often takes years to complete, up to two in some cases. This is because the bone in the jaw needs to reform around the new positions of the teeth. However, we could help cut treatment times down, often buy 50%, with Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics. This technology involves sending you home with a small device that is easy and simple to operate, clean, and store. The device is worn in your mouth for about five minutes a day, and it emits gentle vibrations to stimulate the growth of bone tissue.
