Invisalign® Offers Invisible Orthodontic Care

fort worth invisalignWith Invisalign®, we can keep help teens and adults enjoy optimal oral health by straightening uneven smiles. Not only do these aligners correct smiles, but they can do so while remaining invisible. In today’s blog, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist talks about the benefits of clear Invisalign® aligners.

When Smiles Need Orthodontic Care

When should you consider treatment? We provide orthodontic care for people with minor or severe misalignment, such as crooked, crowded, and overlapping care. While today’s blog is about a service we offer for teens and adults, we do offer treatment for children and adults who have undergone treatment, but who’s teeth have since shifted. Treating your misalignment help lower the risk of major complications. Being able to easily brush and floss post treatment lowers the risk of cavities and gum disease. Restoring proper balance to your smile also means a lower risk of TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding). You also feel more confident about your smile, and will never hesitate to show it off again!

Starting Invisalign®

Do you want to know if Invisalign® is right for you? Then start with an initial consultation. We will talk about your hopes for your smile, and then carefully examine it with digital technology to assess the cause and extent of your misalignment. From there, we can decide on the best course of action to correct your malocclusion. For some, this could even include clear aligners. If so, we will then take iTero® digital images from multiple angles to create a 3D impression, one a lab will use to design and craft your aligners. When they’re ready you will start treatment.

Removable Aligners

A set of aligners will need to be worn daily for about 20 to 22 hours each time. Each set is then worn for about two weeks, after which you begin to wear the next set in the series for the same amount of time. This process continues for about a year to 18 months, shifting your teeth into optimal positions. They can also be removed before meals, so no need to change your diet. You can also take them out before you brush and floss, and also prior to special events too. If you have any questions, then give our team a call today.
