Creating Custom Aligners
First, we need to assess the cause and extent of your misalignment. We do so by obtaining clear and detailed digital images of your smile. If we decide Invisalign® is the right choice for you, then our team will next use iTero® digital imaging to gather images from multiple angles of your smile, which we combine to create a 3D computer impression. This detailed impression allows us to design and craft a series of aligners with precision and accuracy. When they’re ready, you can start the treatment process.
Proceeding With Treatment
A set of aligners will be worn for about two weeks, for 20 to 22 hours a day on average. After two weeks, you then move on to the next set in the series. This process will continue for about a year for adults, or up to 18 months for teens, and gradually and gently reposition the teeth into proper positions. You can remove them before meals so you don’t have to alter your diet or avoid certain foods, and being removable also makes brushing and flossing much simpler too. You enjoy better oral health during treatment, and can avoid worries about how orthodontics changes your appearance during the treatment process.
