The iTero® Process
How do we create these custom orthodontics? We use the iTero® system! We will first use a tiny digital camera at the end of a thin wand to gather detailed images of your teeth from multiple angles. We then combine the images to create a detailed 3D computer model. This offers results with better accuracy and precision than a physical impression. Plus, you don’t have to bite down on molds filled with icky materials! In a dental lab, the model is then used to design and craft the clear aligners from a BPA-free plastic material, so each one is made for your smile specifically.
Wearing Your Aligners
Once we create your aligners with 3D imaging technology, you can begin the treatment process. This involves wearing a set for about two weeks at a time, for 20 to 22 hours per day. After two weeks, you upgrade to the next set in the series and this process continues for about a year for adults and 18 months for teens. The exact time of course will depend on a number of factors, including the extent of your misalignment.

The aligners will be clear in appearance, so your orthodontics are barely noticeable. In addition, they will fit comfortably and help you avoid gum and cheek irritation.
