How We Can Shorten Your Treatment Times

fort worth propel orthodonticsCorrecting misalignment means better oral health and a more attractive smile. But to get there, you need to commit to braces or clear aligners. Often, this could take up to two years! But your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist can offer an advanced technology, Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics, to shorten these treatment times.

What Makes Orthodontics Such a Time Commitment?

The goal of orthodontic treatment is to correct misalignment, which offers straighter smiles, improves oral health, and restores bite balance to avoid issues like TMJ disorder and bruxism (chronic teeth grinding). But as the teeth shift, this means the bone tissues in the jaw need to reform around the new positions. This can take up to two years to happen, which is why the time required for straighter smiles using Invisalign® and metal braces is anywhere between a year and 18 months to two years. However, we have an advanced system that could cut down on this time!

The Propel® System

With the Propel® Accelerated Orthodontic System, we offer our patients the VPro5 device. This is a small machine that is worn in your mouth for about five minutes a day. The device is simple to clean, use, and store, and in some cases could cut treatment time in half. The device works by emitting gentle vibrations to stimulate the growth of bone tissue, allowing you to obtain optimal results in a shorter time frame. We’re proud to be able to offer such a system for our patients!

Following Instructions

Another major step in ensuring optimal results in the timeframe discussed with your orthodontist is to follow instructions. You should arrive at appointments when scheduled, so we can adjust tension in the arch wire if you wear braces and continue your treatment progress. You should make sure you wear your aligners daily for 20 to 22 hours if you’re undergoing Invisalign® treatment. While they can be removed for meals, brushing and flossing, and special occasions, they still need to be worn for the times suggested by our team, as this is crucial for seeing the results you want in the earliest possible time frame.
