Reducing Treatment Time With Propel®

fort worth propel orthodonticsWhen you have an uneven smile, this could mean serious trouble with oral health, and of course, negative impacts on your smile’s appearance too. However, we have a unique technology that allows our team to cut down on treatment times. In today’s blog, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist talks about reducing treatment times with Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics.

How Long Does Correcting Misalignment Usually Take?

The exact amount of time your treatment will take will depend on a number of factors, from the severity of your misalignment to whether you wear your orthodontics as prescribed and attend visits as scheduled. But on average, braces usually take about two years for adults and teens. Invisalign® aligners could correct misalignment for teens in about a year to 18 months, and usually about one year for adults. As you can see, obtaining an even smile that looks great and protects your oral health does require a time commitment. But with advanced technology, we can help reduce the amount of time this takes, sometimes by as much as 50%!

The Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics System

One major reason that this takes so much time is because bone tissues must reform around the new positions of the teeth, and this takes time. However, we could cut down on this time with the use of Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics. The Propel® VPro5 is a small device that you will bring home with you and use for about five minutes each. The device is worn in the mouth, and emits gentle vibrations to encourage the growth of bone tissues around the new positions of your teeth. The mouthpiece is easy to use and clean, and small enough to store with ease as well. We will also monitor your progress during periodic visits to our office for adjustments and exams.
