Tooth-Colored Brackets and Braces
Braces help address more severe cases of misalignment, the kind that can be too advanced for clear aligners alone. Essentially, our team will affix brackets to the front-facing sides of each tooth. An arch wire is then connected to these brackets with a band. During visits to our office, we will examine your smile and then adjust tension in the wire to begin shifting the teeth into position. The bone tissues then reform around the new positions, as your smile is corrected over a period of two years on average. However, instead of using metal for the brackets, we could craft them from ceramic. A strong and durable material, ceramic is also translucent like tooth enamel. In fact, we color-match it to blend with the surrounding tooth structure! We then attach the wire to each one with a clear band.

With custom tooth-colored brackets, teens enjoy smile correction that is less noticeable, allowing them to feel more comfortable during the treatment process. By addressing misalignment, we help your child not only enjoy straighter teeth, but also a reduced risk of tooth decay, gum disease, TMJ disorder, bruxism (teeth grinding), and more. We could also use technology to help reduce overall treatment times. With the Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics, we employ a small device that is worn in your mouth for five minutes a day. Using gentle vibrations, this device helps the bone and gum tissues form around the teeth quicker, reducing how long you need to wear your braces.
What About Invisalign®?
For those who qualify, we also have Invisalign® for young adult patients. Essentially, these are a series of clear aligners that move the teeth into optimal positions. They’re also removable and fit comfortably, which makes the treatment experience more enjoyable.
