Creating Orthodontics That Blend With Smiles

fort worth clear orthodonticsWe offer treatment for people of all ages with misalignment, and we can also provide care for jaw joint disorders like TMD. The key to treating these issues is taking a custom approach. To provide customized orthodontics and appliances, we employ the advanced iTero® digital imaging system! In today’s blog, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist explains why we’ve replaced physical impressions with this system!

The Value of Custom Appliances and Orthodontics

When we take a custom approach, we help ensure you obtain results with precision and accuracy, which could shorten treatment times as your care is more effective now. We also want to make sure they fit comfortably, so you enjoy your treatment period. Better results and a more enjoyable treatment time is why we’ve employed advanced technologies from the initial exam and consultation all the way to the planning and creation of the orthodontic appliances.

Replacing Physical Impressions

With iTero®, we’ve replaced the need for physical impressions. With physical impressions, we would fill a metal mold with a sticky material and people would need to bite down on it and hold that bite for several minutes. If the impression wasn’t accurate enough, the process would need to be repaired. Even if the material was “flavored” it was still just a chalky mess. However, we embraced a digital alternative years ago! No molds or materials. Instead, we use a digital camera at the end of a thin wand to gather images quickly and carefully from various angles. We combine them to create a 3D computer model, which lets us plan your treatment and create aligners or appliances with better precision and accuracy, and in a shorter time frame too!

Other Advanced Technologies

We also use I-CAT imaging to plan your treatment process using digital technology. For a shorter treatment period, we could discuss the use of the Propel® system! Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics involve wearing a small device in your mouth for five minutes a day, the device using gentle vibrations to stimulate the growth of bone tissue around the new positions of your teeth. For some, this could cut the treatment time in half!
