The Technology We Use To Correct Misalignment

fort worth orthodontic technologyWe know that by correcting your misalignment, our team can improve the health and function of your smile, and boost smile beauty too. As part of the process, we use advanced technologies that allows us to design and create braces and aligners, and to also shorten overall treatment times. In today’s blog, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist talks about correcting misalignment.

The Propel® System

Treating misalignment could take quite a long time. For example, metal braces tend to require up to two years to see optimal results. A series of Invisalign® aligners could offer optimal results in a shorter time frame, but you’re still looking at a year to 18 months to see a straighter smile. But! What if we could use advanced technology to cut the time in half or some patients? With the Propel® Accelerated Orthodontic system, you will wear a small device in your mouth for five minutes a day. The gentle vibrations the machine creates will stimulate the growth of bone tissue around the new teeth, which helps you obtain a straighter smile in a shorter time frame.

iTero® Digital Scanning Systems

How do we design and fabricate orthodontics, such as tooth-colored ceramic brackets, TMJ appliances, or Invisalign® aligners? To do so, we no longer use physical impressions created with poor-tasting molds. Instead, we use iTero®. A thin wand with a digital camera at the end allows us to gather multiple images of different parts of your smile quickly and comfortably. We combine them to create a 3D model, and  impressions far more detailed than the physical ones. We then design and fabricate your appliances and aligners in a lab setting, offering treatment with greater precision and accuracy.

We want to be able to assess the factors behind your misalignment, and also plan your treatment with precision and accuracy. To do so, as part of your initial exam our team will gather detailed and targeted images of special parts of your smile with I-CAT technology. These images allow us to carefully look at areas we can’t view with the naked eye, and to better plan and implement your treatment.
