Do I Qualify For Cosmetic Orthodontics?

fort worth invisalignIf you have an uneven smile, you’ve probably been curious about correcting the position of your teeth. However, for many people the possible impact of braces on their appearance is a major problem. Fortunately, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist can provide a more cosmetic route to an even and healthy smile, one that is barely noticeable.

Assessing Your Misalignment

First, we want to take a close look at your smile. Using digital imaging technology, we can carefully examine your smile, including the roots and jaw structures, to assess the cause and severity of your misalignment. From there, we have the ability to choose the best treatment option. We also discuss your smile goals, and which treatment option you may be most comfortable with. Not only do we want you to obtain a healthier and more even smile, but we want you to feel comfortable through the treatment process!

Tooth-Colored Brackets

If you have a more severe cases of misalignment, then you may benefit from braces. However, to make them less visible and improve overall esthetics during treatment, we could use tooth-colored ceramic brackets. Wirth braces, we attach a bracket to the front facing side of every tooth. We then connect a portion of a thin arch wire to each of these brackets with a band. As the orthodontics adjusts tensions in the wire during your visits, this repositions your smile and helps to correct misalignment. However, if we use a ceramic bracket, we color-match it to blend with the tooth structure. In fact, dentists often use ceramic to create crowns and replacement teeth for just this reason. We also connect the arch wire with a clear band. The results are orthodontic that are barely visible!

Invisalign® Aligners

For some of our teen and adult patients, we could also offer clear braces with the Invisalign® system. Essentially, we use a series of clear aligners that fit snugly over your teeth to correct misalignment. You wear a set for 20 to 22 hours daily, for about two weeks. Then you move onto the next in the series. Over a period of a year to 18 months, your smile is straightened with nearly invisible aligners! Each set also fits comfortably, since we design and craft them using the advanced digital images we take of your smile.
