How Do We Help Shorten Your Treatment Times?

fort worth propel orthodonticsOur team provides orthodontic treatment for people in the Fort Worth, TX, community of all ages. We have treatment options to guide the growth of little smiles and minimize misalignment, and braces and aligners for teens and adults. However, many of these options require a significantly time of use to provide optimal results. But what if we could shorten this time with advanced technology?

Braces

Metal braces involve placing a bracket on to the front of each tooth. A thin arch wire is then attached to the brackets with a band, securing a portion of the wire to each bracket. During periodic visits with our office, the tension in the orthodontics is adjusted, which begins to pull and more the teeth into more optimal positions, correcting misalignment with time. To help make them less visible, instead of metal we use ceramic to craft the brackets. Ceramic is then color-matched to blend with the tooth, leaving the very thin wire as the only metal part, and significantly limiting visibility. But how long does care take? We often prescribe this option for teens and adults with more substantial cases of misalignment, so care could take two to two-and-a-half years.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® takes a very different approach, and is suited for more minor cases of misalignment in teen and adult smiles. Instead of using wires and brackets, we take detailed digital impressions of the teeth and in a lab setting, create a series of aligners from a BPA-free plastic. The aligners will be clear and nearly invisible when worn, and switched out for a new set as the teeth are gradually and gently corrected. For teens, care could take up to 18 months as their smiles are still developing, while adults often see optimal results in as little as a year. However, obtaining results in these estimated times means wearing them daily as prescribed!

The Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics

With the Propel® Accelerated Orthodontic systems, we help shorten overall treatment time. The reason the process is so lengthy is because the bone tissue in the jaw and the gums need to reform around the new positions of the teeth, which could take between one and two years to occur. However, with a small device worn in the mouth for about five minutes a day, gentle vibrations will stimulate the growth of bone tissue to shorten your treatment time!
