fort worth invisalignEven though 2020 is almost over, now is still a great time to see us and discuss treating your misalignment. In fact, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist could even discuss correcting uneven teeth with a series of clear and cozy aligners! In today’s blog, we’re going to talk about the unique and esthetically-friendly Invisalign® system.

Use Your Benefits

For many, their dental insurance benefits will be expiring at midnight on December 31st. Which means if you don’t use them, you lose them. The same goes for any accumulated health savings funds! Once they expire, you will need to wait for your 2021 benefits to become available, and this could still mean a waiting period in the early parts of the new year. Instead of losing them, talk to our team. We know how to navigate the world of coverage and benefits to help you understand what to expect from the costs of your treatment.

The Treatment Process

Invisalign® is a unique treatment we offer for both teens and adults. For many image-conscious people, this is optimal for treating minor or severe misalignment. Instead of using metal brackets and wires, or using retainers, we use a series of clear aligners to shift the teeth into optimal position over a period of a year for adults and up to 18 months for teens. Each set is custom-made based on detailed digital impressions and images we gather of your smile, ensuring not only a comfortable fit, but treatment with precision and accuracy too. The aligners will also be clear and barely visible when worn. A set is worn for 20 to 23 hours a day, and a new set is worn every two weeks on average.

Benefits in the Long Term

When you correct misalignment, you lower your risk of tooth decay and gum disease, as there are fewer places for food to become trapped out of reach of your toothbrush and floss. The newly balanced bite also limits the risk of TMJ disorder and bruxism (chronic teeth grinding). You also feel confident of your smile’s appearance as well! During treatment, the aligners can be removed before you eat so you don’t have to change your diet, or before you brush and floss to make oral care much easier. If you have any questions about treating uneven teeth with clear and comfortable plastic aligners, then contact our team today.
