Invisalign® Offers A Comfortable Solution For Misalignment

invisalign alignerDo you have misalignment? This means that instead sitting evenly in your smile, your teeth may crowd or overlap one another, or could be crooked. To correct this issue, you need orthodontics. However, along with common solutions like braces, your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist also has a comfortable option with the Invisalign® system. What makes this such a convenient and clear choice for minor and advanced misalignment?

The Clear Braces Treatment Process

How does Invisalign® help your smile? Well, we use a series of aligners to gradually and carefully shift your teeth into optimal positions. Over time, this corrects the alignment of your smile, improving overall oral health and boosting the beauty of your smile. We may prescribe this option for teens and adults alike, offering a solution to poor alignment that is practically invisible, and also offers a comfortable fit!

Creating and Wearing Your Aligners

The comfortable fit is possible because each individual aligner set is crafted specifically for your smile. Using iTero® digital scanning technology, we take a series of images of your teeth with a tiny digital camera at the end of a thin wand. We combine these images to craft a detailed 3D model of your smile. This model is far more detailed and accurate than the older versions that involved biting down on a mold filled with sticky materials. With these images, we design and craft your aligners, each one designed to shift your teeth with only minor initial discomfort, helping you avoid issues like gum and cheek irritation, which could often occur due to metal braces.

Each set will be worn for about two weeks, for around 20 to 23 hours per day. You then upgrade to the next set in the series. For adults, misalignment is typically corrected in as little as one year, and teens may need up to 18 months. However, the exact time will of course depend on the cause and extent of your misalignment.

Other Benefits

Along with being barely noticeable and providing a comfortably fit, they can also be removed! Which means you can take them out before each meal. You don’t need to avoid certain foods and drinks, and you can also have an easier time brushing and flossing, as you remove them before cleaning your teeth too.
