What Do You Know About Invisalign®?

We care a great deal about our Fort Worth, TX, community, which is why we’re currently closing our office to help slow the spread of COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus. However, when we’re open again, we would love to help you enjoy a more even smile, and to accomplish this, we offer a series of clear aligners with Invisalign®.

Correcting Misalignment with Clear Aligners

To start, we will take detailed impressions of your teeth using digital technology. We gather a series of images with a digital camera at the end of a thin wand. We combine these images to create a 3D model. The model allows our team to design and fabricate a series of aligners from a clear, plastic material. A set is worn for about two weeks, 20 to 22 hours per day. You then start wearing the next set. Over time, these aligners repair the teeth.

How Long Do I Wear Them?

The total treatment time varies. For many adults, the process takes as little as one year. For teens, who have smiles still growing and developing, treatment could take about 18 months. The exact time will depend the cause and extent of your misalignment. As an added benefit, you can also remove these aligners before you eat, which means no need to avoid certain foods or drinks. You also have a much easier time brushing and flossing your teeth, which helps lower the risk of teeth stains, cavities, and even gum disease. Finally, you can also take them out for special occasions, such as graduations or job interviews, provided you continue to wear them each day a prescribed.

The Benefits of an Even Smile

Misalignment, such as crooked, crowded, or overlapping teeth, could impact your smile’s health and beauty. In addition to the effects on your smile’s appearance, uneven teeth make thorough brushing and flossing difficult, which allows food particles to remain trapped between teeth and increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Misalignment also places pressure on the jaw joints, which increases the risk of TMJ disorder and bruxism, two jaw joints disorders linked to jaw pain, headaches and even damaged teeth. With an even smile, you can smile with confidence, and also protect your smile from serious oral health concerns! If you have any questions, then please contact our team today!
