Creating Them with Digital Technology
Each set is custom-made. We start by assessing the cause and extent of your misalignment. If we decide Invisalign® is the right choice, we will use iTero® digital imaging to take a series of images of your teeth, employing a digital camera at the end of a thin wand. We take a number of images quickly and comfortably, combining them to create a 3D model of your smile. Using this model, we then fabricate a series of clear braces custom-created for your smile. Each one fits comfortably, so you avoid the gum and cheek irritation often encountered with metal braces. This technology ensures we create your aligners with accuracy and precision!
The Treatment Process
A set is worn for about 20 to 22 hours a day, and you then move on to the next set in the series after about two weeks. Over a period of a year or so, they reposition your smile. You can remove them before you eat, so you don’t have to avoid certain foods or change your diet. In addition, you have a much easier time brushing and flossing your teeth when you can take out your orthodontics. We also have technology such as the Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics system, which helps reduce the amount of time you need to wear your aligners by situating jawbone growth around the repositioned teeth.
