Fixing Uneven Teeth With Invisalign®

Do you have uneven teeth? No one enjoys poor alignment, and this could lead to problems for your overall oral health too. In order to help teens and adults in Fort Worth, TX, our team may recommend clear braces with the Invisalign® system. In today’s blog, let’s learn how we correct misalignment with removable, barely noticeable braces!

The Causes of Your Poor Alignment

Why do some of us suffer from minor or severe misalignment? Well, a number of factors could impact the position of our teeth, such as premature loss of baby teeth in childhood, thumb sucking, or tongue thrusting. Issues with the eruption of your teeth, as well as the size and shape of your jaw and oral structures, could also be a factor. Losing teeth in adulthood could cause surrounding ones to drift, and issues with the balance of your jaw or the presence of jaw joint strain could impact alignment. Part of your initial consultation involves our team thoroughly examining your smile with advanced technology, identifying the factors behind your poor alignment and choosing the most appropriate treatment option to address them.

The Invisalign® System

For many people, we will opt for Invisalign®. There are no retainers, braces, or teeth spacers. Instead, you will wear a set of aligners that fit over your teeth, for between 20 and 23 hours per day. After about two weeks, you will move on to the next set in the series. Over the course of about a year to 18 months, the alignment of your smile is carefully and gently corrected, helping you achieve a healthier and more attractive smile. While they must be worn as prescribed, you can also remove them before meals, so you don’t need to avoid certain foods, and you can have a much easier time brushing and flossing your teeth. You can also take them our before special occasions as well!

Creating Your New Aligners

Each set is custom-made specifically for your smile, which ensures not only a comfortable fit, but accurate treatment as well. We don’t need to make impressions using a mold and sticky material. Instead, we take a series of digital images of your smile, combining them to create a 3D computer generated impression, which we use to craft your aligners with precision and accuracy. We can even use digital technology to create a mock-up of what your smile could potentially look like following treatment! If you have any questions about clear aligners, then contact our team today.
