Let’s Correct Your Smile With Accelerated Orthodontics

On average, metal braces take about two years to correct poor alignment. With clear Invisalign® aligners, this could take between a year and 18 months. But what if your Fort Worth, TX, orthodontist could offer a system to accelerate this process?

Braces and Clear Aligners

We offer cosmetic orthodontics for our teen and adult patients, which corrects misalignment without having a major impact on your smile’s overall appearance during treatment. For those in need of braces, we will attach ceramic brackets to the teeth, which look natural and blend with the smile. We then attach a very thin arch wire and start the process of correcting your misalignment. We also have the Invisalign® system, which employs a series of clear aligners worn daily to start correcting alignment while remaining practically invisible throughout the process. With braces, treatment takes about two to two and a half years. Clear aligners may take about a year, but could require up to 18 months for teens or those with more substantial misalignment. Fortunately, we can often shorten this timeframe with a unique technology!

Accelerated Orthodontics

The process of correcting uneven teeth takes time because it’s not just about moving the teeth themselves, it’s about allowing the periodontal tissues and jawbone structures to shift and change, securing your newly corrected teeth. The process of reforming bone tissue usually takes about two years. However, to address this we may recommend the Propel® system. The technology stimulates the growth of bone structure to significantly reduce the amount of time needed for treatment. We also have a small device you can take home with you, the Propel® VPRO5, which is an appliance worn in your mouth for about five minutes a day. The device employs gentle vibrations to stimulate the growth of bone tissue. The device is easy to clean and store, and very simple to use.

Care for Patients of All Ages

While the above systems are mainly meant to address misalignment in teens and adults, we also have treatments for children. The earlier a child begins treatment, the shorter the time he or she will need to wear braces or aligners in their teen years. With phased orthodontics, or also known as interceptive orthodontics, we use retainers, teeth spacers, and other systems to help guide the growth of the smile and reduce the severity of misalignment.
