Invisalign® helps teens and adults in Fort Worth, TX, obtain straighter teeth and healthier smiles without the use of metal braces. In today’s blog, we’re going to look at who qualifies for treatment, and how we use these aligners to help correct uneven smiles. Find out how to know if Invisalign® is the right choice for your smile.
Do I Qualify?
Clear braces can help both teens and adults obtain straighter smiles. If you have crooked or crowded teeth, then please schedule a consultation with our team. Using advanced digital imaging technology, we will carefully examine your smile to assess the severity of your misalignment and pinpoint the factors behind it. We can look beneath the gum at the tooth roots, jaw bone tissue, and oral structures to obtain a precise and accurate diagnosis. From there, we can decide if a series of aligners are the best choice for correcting your misalignment. If so, then the next step is gathering the information needed to design and craft your aligners.
Creating Your Custom Aligners
With the iTero® digital scanning system, we will take a number of digital photographs of your smile quickly and comfortably, combining the images to create a 3D model of your smile. With this information, we will design your clear braces. Each set will fit comfortably and help you obtain a more attractive smile. We will monitor your smile throughout the process to ensure you’re wearing them as instructed and to make sure you see optimal results once you finish wearing your final set.
The Treatment Process
Our patients will wear a set for between 20 and 22 hours a day. After about two weeks, the next set will be worn as you work through the series of aligners and begin to see your smile change and straighten. For adults, total treatment time takes about a year. Since teens are still growing and developing, optimal results may take about 18 months. Throughout the process, you can remove your braces before you eat, so you don’t need to avoid certain foods or worry about food becoming trapped in your orthodontics. This also makes brushing and flossing your teeth much easier, which helps you maintain better oral health as your smile is corrected. If you have any questions about clear aligners, then contact our team today. We would love to help you enjoy a healthier and more attractive smile with the Invisalign® system.
