Treating Your Smile With Digital Imaging Technology

In order to offer treatment for residents of Fort Worth, TX, with accuracy and precision, we employ advanced technology. As part of the design process for orthodontic aligners, retainers, or even TMJ appliances, we employ  digital imaging technology. How does iTero® help our team create appliances and aligners that fit comfortably and improve smile alignment?

The iTero® Scanning System

With iTero®, we take detailed digital images of your teeth, gums, and oral structures. Using a camera at the end of a small wand, we can gather these images in a matter of seconds. We then combine the images to create a 3D digtial impression. You don’t need to bite down on molds filled with a sticky and poor-tasting material, repeating the process until a perfect impression is created. Instead, we can use digital technology to create one quickly with unrivaled precision and accuracy. These 3D impressions enable us to craft appliances, brackets, and aligners that fit comfortably and offer optimal treatment. We also have other systems available using digital technology, which not only help plan treatment, but can show patients what their smile could look like following treatment.

Treating TMJ Disorder

If you have TMJ disorder, then pressure on your jaw joints is leading to uncomfortable symptoms and even difficulty fully opening and closing the mouth. Symptoms also include persistent headaches and a popping sensation in the jaw. However, with a custom-made oral appliance, we can reposition the jaw to ease pressure and help you avoid these uncomfortable symptoms.

Retainers and Clear Aligners

Using digital technology, we can also create retainers to help young patients by reducing the severity of misalignment before they begin wearing braces or clear aligners. We can also create Invisalign® aligners, to help teens and adults enjoy more even and attractive smiles. If you do need to wear braces, then iTero® can help by allowing us to design and craft brackets created from ceramic instead of metal, which means when placed, your braces will barely be visible. If you have any questions about our use of iTero® technology, or if you would like to start the road toward a healthier and straighter smile, then please contact our team today. We would love to help you and hour family enjoy a more balanced smile and even teeth, which reduces the risk of everything from cavities and gum disease to TMJ disorder and bruxism.
