Treat Your Misalignment This Summer

Do you have a crooked or crowded smile? Poor misalignment, whether you’re a child or an adult, can mean issues with your oral health and your smile’s appearance. In order to help, we can employ orthodontics to correct smiles in Fort Worth, TX. In today’s blog, were talking about our options for helping patients and their families enjoy better alignment and healthier smiles!

Cosmetic Orthodontics

As the name suggest, cosmetic orthodontics are meant to help correct smiles without having a major impact on your smile’s overall appearance. While effective, few people are excited to wear metal braces for up to two years. However, to reduce the appearance of metal braces, we can create the brackets from ceramic. The brackets are attached to the front facing side of your teeth and connected to an arch wire, necessary to help reposition your teeth and correct misalignment. However, by creating them from ceramic, which we can shade to match the color of your teeth, this makes them much less noticeable.

We also have another option for correcting smiles: Invisalign® clear aligners. We don’t use metal brackets or wires to correct the smile at all. Instead, using digital technology we take detailed digital impressions and scans of your smile, using them to design a series of aligners from a clear and comfortable acrylic material. Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks, 20 to 23 hours a day, over the course of about a year. We can help you enjoy a more even and healthy smile, all with practically invisible braces.

Children and Teen Orthodontics

We also offer treatment for younger patients as well! For children, starting as young as age seven, we can provide interceptive orthodontics. These are designed to help guide the smile’s growth and development and lessen the impact of misalignment in their early years. Then, when they become teens, the amount of time required for braces is often much shorter. Interceptive orthodontics could include teeth spacers, retainers, aligners, and even braces. For teens, we can typically prescribe our cosmetic options, such as Invisalign® or the tooth-colored ceramic brackets. If you have any questions about correcting uneven smiles, or if you’re ready to help yourself or your family enjoy a straighter and healthier smile, then please contact our team today. We will help find the right solution for your smile issues, and allow you to enjoy better oral health along the way.
