Thanksgiving is a little over a week away, which means that holiday celebrations can officially start! Fort Worth, Texas is getting an early jump on the holiday lighting and events with things going on this weekend! Holiday Lights & Events
- The Panther Island Ice rink officially opens back up for the season on November 16th! The rink is located at the Coyote Drive-In and it is Fort Worth’s only outdoor ice skating rink. Panther Island Ice is open 7 days a week during the season. Immerse yourself in the winter wonderland while it lasts. The rink will close for the season in January.
- On November 17th, Sundance Square will host its official Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. The annual event will circle around lighting the 59-foot tall Christmas Tree in the middle of Sundance Square. There will be a visit from Santa Clause, hot cocoa, and plenty of Christmas carols to be sung.
- Sunday, November 18th is GM Financial Fort Worth Parade of Lights held through downtown Fort Worth. This year celebrates 100 years of Cook’s Childrens. There will be over one hundred illuminated floats with over a half a million lights on the parade route. The parade is always a big draw each year, so be sure to reserve your seats online to get a good view. It will begin at 6:00 in the evening.
