Did you know that Texas’s headquarters for wine is so close to Fort Worth, Texas? The city of Grapevine has several wineries and it is the home to the largest wine festival in the southwest, GrapeFest. The 32nd Annual GrapeFest is this weekend! While there are plenty of wine-centric activities, there are also plenty of fun things to do for the entire family. The People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, one of the main events of the fest, is the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the entire country. There will be a “GrapeStomp” competition and three stages of live entertainment. There will be plenty of food from vendors serving up fair foods like caramel apples to unique foods like steak on a stake. There will be carnival rides for the whole family along with “KidsWorld.” “KidsWorld” will feature vendors like Legoland and Sealife Aquarium, both local to Grapevine. There will be interactive games and a petting zoo. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be a new competition for 2018: the Grapefest Steak Cook Off, where 50 teams will compete to cook the best steak. No matter what you and your family want to do this weekend, there is probably something fun to do at GrapeFest!
