Orthodontic Technology Benefits Your Smile

Orthodontic Technology Benefits Your SmileTechnological advancements in every facet of our lives can make things a bit more comfortable and convenient. We have computers in our pocket, in our cars, and even in our refrigerators. Investment in advanced orthodontic technology allows for your treatment to be made more comfortable and effective. With each passing year, knowledge is gained that can help make orthodontic treatment more convenient, accurate, and comfortable for you and your smile.

Imaging

Digital technology can produce precise and vivid images of your teeth, mouth, and gums. The traditional method of getting images and blueprints of your smile involved getting a physical impression of your teeth involved by biting into a mold. The experience of biting into a sloppy mold could be an unpleasant and uncomfortable. Physical molds are also not very precise, so creating treatment based on their dimensions was not as accurate as digital scans can produce. Getting images digitally is more comfortable, and provide much more precise data to create customized treatment.

Discreet Appearance

Traditional braces are made of metal, and can be quite noticeable on the smile. Invisalign is a treatment designed to straighten the teeth while being hardly noticeable on the smile. Invisalign consists of wearing nearly invisible plastic aligners for at least 22 hours a day. The aligners can be removed when you need to eat, drink, or brush and floss.

Faster Treatment

The goal of most orthodontic treatment is to move your teeth into more symmetrical positions. This re-positioning of teeth requires a shift in the bone and tissues of the jaw. Typically, shifting bones and tissue can take up to two years to complete.  Propel® Accelerated Orthodontics is technology that allows your treatment to be completed in almost half of that time. The system provides faster treatment by stimulating growth and formation around your teeth.
