In The Community This WeekendNow that the holidays are over, the kids may be back in school. The cold weather may have kept you and your family cooped up inside the house, but the chill has warmed up a bit. It’s time to break the cabin fever and get outside. There are plenty of events in the Fort Worth community that can be enjoyed this weekend. Lake Country Orthodontics is very proud to serve this unique and welcoming community that is North Texas and Fort Worth. 

Community Events

  1. Artspace111 at 111 Hampton Street presents Sussie, a group exhibition of works from a curation of Texas-based artists. Sussie, features small-sized paintings, sculptures, and prints ideal. The art is available for purchase. The exhibit is open through January 27th.
  2. Until January 15th, the Panther Island Ice rink located at Coyote Drive-In will operate seven days a week. The times vary by day, but the $12 admission includes skate rental and tax.
  3. The Omni IMAX theater at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is showing 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Omni Theater offers a fully immersive viewing experience via its innovative tilt-domed screen. This is the largest kind of domed theater west of the Mississippi River.
  4. An exclusive opening night reception for Laura Wilson: Photographs in the West at Fort Works Art will take place on January 5, from 6-9 pm. Both Laura Wilson and Byrd Williams IV will be at the reception to meet guests and sign books. The exhibit explores the vision of Western culture through the artist’s extensive travels through the American West. The New York Times Magazine has referred to her some of her previous work as “a classic of Texas history.” Laura Wilson’s photographs have been showcased in The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, GQ Magazine and more.
  5. Every first Sunday of the month, join Co-Owner of SoulSpace Yoga Community Lauren Wessinger in The Red Room inside of the 112-year-old landmark building, OB Mac building for champagne and shopping from mindful local vendors.
